Twins and Multiples - Bonding with your babies

Dr Carol Cooper, General Practitioner: For some parents, bonding with their newborns seems to be an instant thing. But please don't beat yourself up about it if it doesn't happen that way for you. For starters, your attention is divided between your new babies, so you won't be able to give them the same amount of cuddles and eye contact as parents of just 1 baby can. Bonding can take longer for parents of twins or more, but it will happen. Make good use of any help offered to you so you can spend time with each baby individually and get to know each one as a little person. And that's much more fun than doing chores. Using different colored blankets or dressing them differently or painting one of their toenails will help you distinguish between your babies quickly even during those sleep-deprived moments.
