Should physical activity recommendations be ethnicity-specific?
Two of the major modifiable risk factors for type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease are obesity [1], [2] and a low level of physical activity [3], [4]. Because of this, national and international bodies have made recommendations regarding appropriate levels for body mass index (BMI) [5], waist circumference [5], and physical activity [6]–[8], to minimise risk of vascular and metabolic disease.
