Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) have emerged as a major public health challenge globally. Recent estimates indicate a rising trend in CVD deaths from 17 million in 2002 to 23 million in 2030, with a distinct growth pattern in developed and developing countries [1]. While, there is a preponderance of CVD deaths in older ages, in developed countries, it is more pronounced among the younger population, in developing countries.
