    statin causes myalgia in 30% cases,rhabdomyolysis,myositis,cataract,forgetfulness,alzheimer’s disease,osteoporosis,P.neuropathy,carcinoma besides diabetes .only one in 300 patients gets benefitted with statin.so it up to you to decide about statin use.
